Corporate Partnerships

Partnering With Us

Our mission is to provide team members with the 21st century skills they need to succeed in the workforce and in college, we would like to further that mission by partnering with businesses and involving industry in education. Businesses can provide educational opportunities such as facility tours and guest speakers. Businesses can also aid our team through technical expertise and manufacturing support. Additionally, they can help fund our team. This year our budget is $30,000, we pay for this with fundraisers, our team’s silk screen printing business, and sponsorships from businesses. The budget covers materials, registration fees, and travel. Additionally, this year we are looking to build two robots and update our equipment.

FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC)

FRC is a worldwide competition for 9-12th graders. Teams have 6 weeks to design, assemble, and test, a robot weighing up to 120 lbs. to compete in that year’s game. The game involves field components that the robots can manipulate to score points. Three team alliances compete against each other on a 54’ x 26‘ field. Matches are two minutes and thirty seconds long, and consist of a fifteen second autonomous period and a two-minute and fifteen second teleoperated period.

Our Team

Our FRC team (No. 4521) is headquartered out of Harrison High School. Our rookie year was in 2013, that year we were the highest rookie seed at our regional competition. Last year, we were seeded 12 out of 50 at the Knoxville, TN regional. We have an average team size with around 35 members. All members of the robotics team are in at least one of the 6 engineering classes offered at Harrison in which we learn engineering and technical concepts; we are then able to apply those in robotics. As a team we strive to impact the community with various STEM programs and services. This summer we held a robotics camp attended by over 90 kids from the surrounding area.

Donating

Harrison Robotics is a 501(c)(3) non-profit so gifts are tax-deductible. We would like to secure our funds by November 20th, but can accept until December 16th.
